I think it's a very pretty name and actually I don't understand the hate. I think this spelling is unique and nice to say, but it gets mistaken a lot. Such a beautiful name with an even more beautiful meaning.
Honestly, I don't understand the hate this name is getting, I know this is gonna get a ton of downvotes but heeeere we go.Kaitlyn is the name of my best friend and in my opinion, it is a really pretty way to spell the name. I just like the name in general. I really like the combination of two already pretty names (Kate and Lynn) in an intricate, strong name. You should be proud to be a Kaitlyn. Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's a bad thing, popular things are popular for a reason. It's alright if you disagree, but that's my take on the name.
Kaitlyn Siragusa (born December 2, 1993), also known as Amouranth, is a Twitch streamer and OnlyFans content creator from Texas who began streaming on Twitch in 2016. She is one of the most popular streamers on the platform with nearly 6 million followers, and is notable for doing variety streams that feature dancing, ASMR, and hot tubs.
It looks trendy and childish. Caitlin is much nicer. If you must use an alternate spelling then I think that Kaitlin, Katelyn or Catelyn looks less trendy than Kaitlyn.

I hate it. Just go with Caitlin which looks much better.
Hi my name is Kaitlyn at first I did not like my name but now I love it. Especially when I learned it came from Ireland because some of my ancestors are from Ireland.
My name is Kaitlyn and I've never liked it. It's far too common and I feel that the meaning (pure) is childish. The nicknames for it are even more common. There are also too many ways to spell it so I have to spell it every time. I plan to legally change my name soon. I feel like this name was a bad trend.
My name is Kaitlyn, I love my name, I've always liked it but once I did want to change it to Kaity. I used to like it when people called me Kait I honestly don't like it when people spell my nickname Kate though. I really like to be called Kaitlyn now that I'm 14. I have a couple of nicknames though, Kait, Kaity, Kitkat, Kaitkat. My name means pure in the Irish origin. I really like this simple name, I don't know if it relates to me though, but I like this name.
This spelling looks very modern, cutesy, and even a little harsh. I believe Caitlin is technically supposed to be pronounced similarly to Kathleen, so this spelling doesn't make so much sense either.
I really do like the name Kaitlyn. I normally prefer traditional spellings, and tend not to like modern names, but I like a lot of -lyn names. Caitlin is originally an Irish name, and I love Celtic names and culture but Caitlin just looks rather bland to me and so I prefer Kaitlyn/Caitlyn, or especially Katelyn, as I have very good associations with the latter. I think it is a very youthful name though and, as another commenter wrote already, it is difficult to imagine it on an older person, I can't imagine a Kaitlyn over 40. It's a bit of a pity that Kaitlyn doesn't seem to have nice nicknames. I like Katie for Katherine related names, but since Kaitlyn is spelled a bit differently Katie is not really an obvious nickname, and I don't like Kait or even Kate very much.
My name is Kaitlyn and I’ve really hated my name for a long, long, loooong time because I know over 6-7 other Kaitlyns at my school. I used to be called “other Kaitlyn” during attendance and it really sucks because I feel so... unoriginal. I feel like I could just be replaced if I go. It sounds hideous and I pity anyone who was given this name. Although it’s not as common as Sophia and Olivia, it’s still given me a lot of confidence issues and I’ve even considered changing my name. Even though Olivia was as common as it is, I absolutely LOVED that name.

My name is Kaitlyn but pronounced Kay-tlyn instead of Kate-lyn which throws everyone off and no one can say properly without practicing. Whenever I tell people the difference between how the name is pronounced and how my name is pronounced they ALWAYS say that my way is prettier but that they can't say it right! I'm always like how is it that difficult?
I know TONS of Kaitlyn's. It seems to be a very popular name upon girls. I know some spelled with a C, some spelled with a K, and some even spelled like Cat-lynn!
My name is Kaitlyne; and no, that is not a typo. My parents spelled my name like that because my twin sister's middle name, Jacklyne ends with -lyne. I love how unique my name is; I truly love it. Yeah, it is impossible to find my name spelled correctly in name dictionaries, so I just look up Kaitlyn. I read some comments on the name, and I believe the name is not boring in the slightest way. There are at least 5 girls with the name Kaitlyn, Kaitlynn, Caitlyn, Caitlynn, or mine, Kaitlyne- just in the 8th grade at my school. There are 13, 145 out of 327.16 million people in the U.S. with the first name Kaitlyn. Also, statistically, Kaitlyn is the 1684th most popular first name. I really believe the name Kaitlyn is one of the most beautiful names I have seen.
In 2018, 10 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Kaitlyn who is registered female with the Social Security Administration. It is the 364th most common female first name for living U.S. citizens.

I'm not Kaitlyn, but my best friend is. She is a very nice girl and she looks like a Kaitlyn, but I once met another girl with her name who spelt it differently (Kaitl'n) which I thought was a really dumb way of spelling it. Anyways, I personally don't like how the name sounds because of personal experiences but in general, I could say it's a nice name and this is a nice way of spelling it.
My name is Kaitlyn. I like it but I did not in 4th grade, it sounded boring but that may be because there were 3 other Kaitlyns, 2 spelled differently, in my grade. And now some boys at my school are calling me Kat.
My name is Cait-lynn. Exactly that, spelled with a C, a hyphen, lowercase l, y, and two n's. I love the meaning of the name, but I hate feeling so common. Almost two out of five females I have encountered have this name. And don't get me started on that Jenner person. Not only is it so common, but almost every one that I have encountered are rude, self-centered, and overall not very pleasant people, which does not relate to me at all. I have been told by many that I am the most kind, warm-hearted person they know. I do not like having a name in common with people who are downright mean. I would have rather been called Andrea like my parents originally thought, or Amanda, which is my middle name. I like the name, but not necessarily the people or the commonness.
My name is Kaitlyn and I think its an okay name, nothing terrible but nothing special. I have ALWAYS gone by Kate or Katie. 'Kaitlyn' might sound a little childish to people but the thing I love most about my name is that there are so many nicknames to go by and you can choose whatever you want; Kate, Kait, Katie, Kaity, Lyn, KayKay... the list goes on. It's a very flexible name:)

My best friend's name is Kaitlyn and I think it is a great name although I can't really imagine anyone over 30-ish with this name. Kaitlyn says that when she was born, her parents had a hard time agreeing on a name and this is what they came up with. It is a good name for her and she looks like a Kaitlyn, but there is this one girl at my school who has this name but with disgusting spelling: KAITL'N. I don't like her OR her name because of the way she spells it.

My sister's name is Kaitlyn and I LOVE it. So I think people should cool it and write things that are helpful.

People need to chill. How is this name not unique? Sorry it's not as bizarre as like Shanequa. Or as elderly sounding as Margret. It's over populated for a reason. People named their child Kaitlyn because it's beautiful and charming, unlike your ugly boring unoriginal name.

If this name is as common as people complain it is, why is it so far down on the top 100 names of 2015? Emma, Sophia, Olivia are top three, and boy are those names overused. Can you see a Grandma named either of those three names? Lol no, you would much rather see a Kaitlyn which can be shortened to Kait. And lastly, who cares if it's not spelled your basic traditional way of "Caitlin". Like, BORING. It looks so plain that way, honestly. Maybe not everyone wanted to go full out Irish and be the same like everyone else. Kaitlyn is still derived from Katharine. It also looks MUCH prettier.

My name is Kaitlyn. I love this name very much. It's not as common as people complain it is, at least where I live (it is not nearly as common as Emily or Elizabeth). The name is not "childish" or nor does it belong as a name for a baby doll. It is elegant and beautiful. As a Kaitlyn ages, she could go by Kait or Kate (depending how you'd like to spell it). I know plenty of elderly people that go by Kate and it sounds just fine. Not every person will be your typical "Colleen" or "Susan" or (insert old lady name), so get over it. If you've met all Kaityn's that were rude when you got to know them, that's just a coincidence with common society, so don't associate those negative feelings towards the name. Just wanted to clear those things up :)

I personally admire this name. This name is kind of popular but I don't care! I am going to name my kid this when I get older and if anyone other than me likes this name then you have really good taste!
I love this name. I love everything about it! My friend's name is Kaitlyn and I love how she spells it. I don't like this name when it is spelled Katelyn or Catelyn. But I do like it when it's spelled Caitlyn. I love this name!
My name is Kaitlyn and I love it. Yes there are a lot of people I know with the same name but to merit is not childish, it's who I am. I believe when I get older the name won't sound childish because it would have aged with me. Like people with the names Edith and Milly, when they were younger those names weren't old but to us now they seem like older names. I love my name being Kaitlyn so for all you haters... get over it. :)

This is an awesome name. I know nobody with this exact spelling. This is my name and I know only 2 other people with this name and again it isn't even spelled this way, and frankly I don't like the other ways you spell it. It doesn't make sense that the name Kaitlyn would have a C at the beginning, if you say the word it literally sounds like you are saying K-TLYN it doesn't sound like C-TLYN, it has the word k in it. P.S. the two people I know are not nice with the names Kaitlyn but spelled Caitlyn and Katelin. Not saying it's the way it's spelled, I just wanted to say that.

My name is Kaitlyn and I love it! Unfortunately, I got stuck with the nickname Katie, which I don't like as much. To me, Katie sounds childish.(Although considering the fact that I gave myself the nickname Kit-Kat, I can't say much) I think everyone is too harsh about this name. It means Purity, which is a lovely thing to have. I got this off an urban dictionary and it describes me to a 'T': A Kaitlyn is someone who is absolutely amazing. She is sweet and kind and will always care. Is a fighter for love but hates fighting in any other situation. Doesn't care what the hell anyone thinks because she knows she is beautiful inside and out. Often brunette and brown eyed. Oh... and always smiling. And don't forget about those crazy faces :)

My name is Kaitlyn, and I think a lot of you are really harsh about the name, I thinks it's a pretty name, and I don't know where you guys are in the world or whatever, but in England the name is not widely used, at least not where I am, and where I am, no one else spells it the same way I do, so it's pretty unique over here. It is hard to find a nickname for it though, in my opinion.

My name is Kaitlyn I most certainly think it's a beautiful name I love it very much. Yes there are proper spellings I guess. But I still haven't met one person who spelled their name the same way as me and I think it's pretty cool that my name isn't spelled as the original one is. I personally don't think that this name is overused.

I really don't understand the massive popularity of this name, in all 144+ spelling variations I've seen. Weren't there already enough of them 15-20 years ago? Not only does it seem like a dull and unoriginal naming choice these days, but it also seems very childish and insubstantial.
My name is Kaitlyn and my name has grown on me. When I was little I used to hate my name, but now I love it. I love the nicknames like Katy or Katie (however you like to spell it) and Kate. I do hate having to always spell it for people, and every time I spell it out people say "Oh I've never seen that spelling before." And some people read my name and think it's pronounced Kathleen, Katlyn Katherine, not sure how they get that. My parents thought it was going to be an original name, but when we moved to Florida I did meet a lot of Kaitlyn's. I actually have a best friends named Kaitlin.
My name is Kaitlyn and while I do like my name for the most part, I find it really annoying that there are also ten million other Kaitlyn, Catlin, Katlins in the US alone! Please do not add another Kaitlyn on top of that!
Wow I am so sick of these million and one variants of the name Caitlin. And everyone who has it says "My parents were trying to be unique and they didn't realise that the ridiculous spelling of my name was going to be used by, like, everyone. About 5 minutes after they signed the birth certificate".How gullible do you think we ARE?!
What does that have to do with gullibility? Sometimes parents do not anticipate the trendiness of a name, and that's why they give it to their child. I don't understand why someone would intentionally make their kid have a popular name? To make them fit in better? That's just lame.Just because the people on this site (myself included) are avid name fans, does not mean everyone is. Some people base the popularity of name by how often they hear it, not by stats. Some people don't like to get so technical when they're naming their child. Some people don't have the access. So, no, this is not about how gullible people perceive others to be. It never was, and to assume such is more than a little childish.
This is my name. It is not trendy or anything. Although my mother wanted the traditional spelling, my father wanted something different. They did not anticipate the popularity that my name would garnish a few years after my birth. I've only known 2 or 3 Kaitlyns that spell it the same as I do, but its variations are quite popular. It is a bit of a shame. As far as nicknames go, friends and the public just call me Kaitlyn, but my family sometimes call me Kait or Kaity. I was named after my mother's sister Kathleen.
I like this name (despite the fact that it is quite common), particularly when spelled this way. Somehow the "C" always seem less strong, or something, and I love the letter "i". I also don't think this name is tied to any any age group, young or old, and that it is cute when paired with the middle name "Jean."
My mom named me this. I like the name. It makes me me, and consequently, not all people who have this name are mean. We may be really really crazy, but not mean.
This is my name. I usually just go Kate or Katie, occasionally Kat, so yeah the name is very flexible. There's many different spellings for this name, but I believe this is the cutest way to spell it.
This is my sister's name. My mom wanted it spelt this way because she thought it would be easier for our relatives to pronounce - where they are from it's not a common name at all, and she didn't wan't my sister called Cat-lin. Personally, perhaps because I am biased in this case, I think it's a beautiful spelling of this name.
I think Kaitlyn is cute. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about the spelling. I've seen a lot worse. I don't understand why people don't like it. I'd like to use it on a baby girl one day, if I ever get pregnant. I think Kaitlyn is pretty.

Cute but far too common. I think it works well as a middle name though.
Ok you know what, my name is Kaitlyn and I love it. Kaitlyn is not a baby doll's name!

If people spelled it right, it wouldn't seem so childish! The Irish alphabet does not contain K or Y. Although this spelling is closer to the Greek roots of the name (K and Y *are* frequently used in *that* alphabet), and is an interesting modern example of the evolution of language and names, it is WAY overused and much too trendy. Please, please, give your child a name with some substance -- like Caitlin!

I agree with the Anonymous User. This name wouldn't be so `childish` if it was spelled the right way -- Caitlin. The original form is the classiest, the one with most elegance. Adding the K's and the Y's is ruining this beautiful name Caitlin.
Well, my name is Kaitlyn, and as I've grown older people have began calling me "Kaitie, Katester" all those names. I don't like my name being Kaitlyn. It sounds childish and immature.

I think Kaitlyn is a very beautiful name. But where I live, there are way too many people with that name - in fact, there are at least 4 in my school. A friend of mine is named Kaitlyn, but she hates the name since it's so ordinary.
Kaitlyn is a beautiful name. If I have a daughter someday I would name her Kaitlyn. It's just so feminine and sweet sounding. It also sounds very dignified and classy. As she grew older she could go by Kate. I disagree about Kaitlyn not sounding "very professional". A lot of very great people are named Kaitlyn or Kate. Silly to say that.
This is my name, and while I like it, it seems to me to be a very youthful name, and not very professional. It also tends to be spelled incorrectly a lot, since there are a million variations of the spelling.
I prefer the original Caitlin spelling of the name, although I do like the name itself. I like the cute melodic charm.

I'm sorry but I for one don't like the name Kaitlyn no matter which way it's spelled. Yes, "Kaitlyn" is the best way of spelling it but everyone I've known with this name has appeared nice at first until you got to know them.

Kaitlyn is a name of strength and beauty. It represents courage and honor. As well as intelligence. Kaitlyn is poetic, and here is a taste. "Self-Portrait Strength resides within my self being I am not conceded though confident Head strong I am as well, though I am neither rash nor stubborn I am also intelligent and quite clever Blessed I am, for all I have and have attained I am a graceful ballerina Independent and self-reliant too Additionally, I am a faithful friend and trustworthy listener Honesty is crucial within my morals Responsible and mindful both describe my beliefs I enjoy literature, fine art, and photography Dance is my addiction and I am always sure to overdose with each evening Love and hope is my religion and I practice it with every day I live in the moment and never give up I am inspiring and courageous Accepting of change and new phases Or quite simply, I am me and this is how I see I am Kaitlyn"
