The name is comprised of two parts. The first, ישה (yshh), is of uncertain etymology. Some say it may mean "to support" or "to assist". The second part, יה (Yah), is an abbreviated form of Yahweh. Together the two parts may mean "Yahweh supports". Some other proposed meanings are "Yahweh is equality" and "set upright of the Lord".In the Bible, Joshaviah is one of David's warriors. He is the son of Elnaam and brother of Jeribai. He's only mentioned once in the Bible, in 1 Chronicles 11:46.
