My little 8-month-old is Jetta, and we say JET-tuh. She is sweet and cuddly, and just amazing. I will also note that she was extremely early in learning to smile and laugh. When people ask her name, I say Jetta, but people often think I have a stuffy nose saying Jenna, a downside I never considered.

My name is Jetta. It's a Danish name, meaning "home ruler". Guess I rule my house.
This is a very pretty name. I know an awesome girl with this name, and it fits her perfectly. Her name is often mistaken for Jenna. The humorous side is that her bike is from the brand Jetta.

Very different! I like how unique it is but I’m not sure it’s pretty. It’s strong though which is good.
My name is Jetta. It is not short for, or a variant of another name. I've only met one other person with my name. Many years ago she and I were attending a wedding and she was a friend of the groom and I was a friend of the bride. My mother knew a girl with the name Jetta growing up, she would visit her grandmother in the summers who lived across the street and they played together. Since the name had never been in baby books until recent years, it's interesting to see the different spellings and cultural backgrounds tied to my name: German, English, Dutch, Latin, Swedish, and Danish. I contacted Volkswagen several years ago to see if they could tell me about the name, but they did not respond to that part of my inquiry - no matter, I love my name! And I had it before they did.

HISTORY OF MY NAME, JETTA: My grandmother's name was written "Congetta," the English spelling of her Sicilian name, Concetta, by Texans who didn't know how to spell it in the 1890s. My brother was named after my grandfather and I after my grandmother. My parents changed the "'g" to J to match the J in my older brother's name, "Joseph" (for Guiseppi).
Kind of cool and sleek, but reminds me of the car. I definitely don't hate this name though, I like the sound of it.

I always thought this name was just so awesome and cool. When I think of it I picture a tall girl with black hair and a slim frame- really sleek and serious. I prefer the pronunciation JET-tə.
On the children's television show, Clifford the Big Red Dog, there is a girl named Jetta. She's "Mac's human" and is a wealthy, self-centered, friend of Emily Elizabeth who is often oblivious to others' feelings. However, her name is pronounced JET-tə.

Jetta is a *short form* (not a diminutive) of Henrietta (not Henriette). The proper short form for Henriette would be Jette, you see - please see the Submitted Names Database for my entry on Jette. Also, the Dutch pronunciation of Jetta is: YET-tah. [noted -ed]
I think of someone who has raven black hair when I hear this name. It's quite unusual and kind of pretty. But if I was to use this it would be a character's name. No offense to the few with this name!
I think Jetta is very pretty. I probably would never use it but it does sound strong and unique. I have to say though, I've heard more boys with this name and it has always struck me as masculine.
My name happens to be Jetta, and although I have been associated with the car and the name Jenna, I like the fact that no one I know has this name. It makes me feel very unique.
