This is my mother's name. She's told me that she was given this name because she was born close to Christmas. Unfortunately, people have somehow mispronounced her name as "Jessica" or "De Souza". She does sometimes go by "Jess" or "Susa" to make it easier for others but will usually go by Jesusa. It is an unusual name but I do like its uniqueness.

Jesusa (and Jesús) are too religious in my opinion. Jesusa seems particularly dated. I can see it only on an elderly nun.
