I like and admire this name well enough but I just HATE that it's associated as a "black" name far too often. Like, you can't name a child or a character this without people assuming he's of African descent. And it does not help at all that any famous Jermaines are almost always black- if not every time.

I like the sound of the name Jermaine. :) Of course, I think of Jermaine Jackson. I wouldn't personally use this name though.
