It's one of my given names ("Sipkje" is the other), but my parents decided to call me in daily life just "Jessika". I'm glad my parents did that, because I really hate this name.

So nearly ten years ago I wrote the comment above. Since then I've grown to love all of my names. My given names (Jeltsje Sipkje) are after my grannies, and having lost my last granny made me realise how happy I am to carry both their names.
