This name is comprised of two parts: ידע (yada'), meaning "to know" and אל ('el), which is the abbreviated form of אלהים ('elohim), referring to "God".In the Bible, there are three people named Jediael. The first, in 1 Chronicles 7:6, is the son of Benjamin, brother of Bela and Beker, father of Bilhan, and grandfather of Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.The second, first mentioned in 1 Chronicles 11:45, is one of David's warriors. He is also the son of Shimri.The third, in 1 Chronicles 26:2, is the second son of Meshelemiah, one of David's gatekeepers.
