I usually don’t comment on non-English names on this website but since this is the name of the day today I’m just going to do what I rarely do: comment on a non-English name.Ok this name would be good but only if the parents are Arabic or something like that but ummm, I guess it's fine? I don’t really know how this would be pronounced (excuse me for my ignorance) anyways whatever.
I know the Aladdin association but I don’t care for it. However, I'd prefer going with Jafari instead.
Jafar Panahi (b. 1960), Iranian filmmaker known for the award-winning The White Balloon (1995) and his resistance to government censorship.
Disney completely demonized this name.
Mainly a Shi’a name, therefore it's also used in Iran (also written as "جعفر" in Persian). [noted -ed]
I find it hard to take this name seriously ever since I saw Disney's Aladdin. Though it sounds like it could be a cool name for a boss or someone in an authoritative position.
It was also the name of the great-grandson of Hussain (grandson of Prophet Mohammedand and 2nd Imam). Ja'far Al-Sadiq is known as the 6th Imam among Shi'ite Muslims.
A silly reference, probably, but Jafar was the name of the usurping advisor to the Sultan in Disney's movie "Aladdin".
