I like a lot of Jac- names. Maybe I don't like Jackie quite as much as I do Jack, but I still do, I think it's really cute, while at the same time I wouldn't say it sounds childish and it has a certain strength to it. That being said though, I still much prefer it as a nickname for Jacqueline, I think it's more serious than just Jackie alone, and also Jackie seems to be more dated in the English-speaking world than Jacqueline. I can definitely imagine a young Jackie, but when I hear it on someone my first thought is that they must be middle-aged. For a boy, I only see Jackie as a nickname, definitely not a full form, and I think I'd rather spell it Jacky. Jacky would be very endearing as an affectionate nickname for Jack, but as a full name it really doesn't sound suitable for an adult man to me.

In Polish, a lot of people pronounce Jackie more like JEK-ee than JAK-ee.

Jackie is definitely not a typical Polish name, its equivalent would be Jakubina I guess but that's not very common, but Jackie has still had some usage. As of January this year, there have been 6 women named Jackie in Poland. 12 others have Jackie as their middle name. A Polish Jackie could celebrate her name day either with Jakub (March 14, May 6, June 1, July 25, August 6), or perhaps with Jan (January 4, 27 and 31, February 8, March 8 and 28, April May 27, June 12, 24 and 26, July 12, August 19 and 29, October 20, November 21 and 24, December 27), or even Jacek, which is totally etymologically unrelated unlike what a lot of Poles think, but a lot of Jaceks go by Jack as their English name equivalent (February 10, July 3, August 17, September 9 and 11, October 29).

Jackie Wilson, born Jack Leroy Wilson Jr. As a singer who rose to prominent fame throughout the 1950's and the 1960's. Born on June 9th, 1934, in Detroit Michigan, and died on January 11th, 1984 in Mount Holly, New Jersey, was a dynamic performer of the R&B and soul genre. Some of his most recognized songs include: Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher, Lonely Teardrops, To be Loved, That's Why, and Lonely, just to name a few. 🎼🎶🎵.
My name is Jacqueline but I go by Jackie. My paternal grandfather's name was Jack so my parents named me for him. I was the only Jackie in my class as well as the whole grade in grammar school. People have asked me if I was named after Jacqueline Kennedy...nope! I was 5 years old when President Kennedy was elected! I must say, I think Mrs. Kennedy was such an elegant lady and the way she pronounced her name ~ "JackLEEN" was perfect for her. I could not pull that off!
This name just sounds so dated now-- like something from the 1950's or 1960's. When a guy named Jack gets called Jackie it's often because someone is insinuating that he's effeminate and not a real man. They're making fun of him.

I prefer just Jack for a boy, or Jacky, but Jackie as a girls nickname. I know a Jackie as a full name and she's female.

Jackie Richardson is a Canadian singer and actress. She is known for her screen roles in The Gospel According to the Blues, The Doodlebops, and Sins of the Father. She is also known for her appearance on the YTV show Catwalk where she played the grandmother to Atlas.
Don't forget that Jack/Jacky/Jackie are also nicknames for the "Jacob's family", not only for John. In France or in Belgium, Jacky is a very common pet name for Jacques. For example the driver Jacky Ickx was a Jacques and there are many other examples like this. In my opinion, Jack is derived from Jacques and not from John; I don't believe in the Jankin's theory. Jackie used for Jacqueline is one of the examples that gives me reason. Think about it.
Primarily used as a nickname for names such as Jacqueline, Jack & Jackson (:

I love the name Jackie... probably as it is my name! Don't worry, have no shame in your name. I struggle forever trying to figure out how to spell my name. I even used to be ashamed because I was named after my uncle Jakey... And I'm a girl... But anyway, my full name spelling is Jaclynn so I struggled trying to figure out whether or not I wanted to spell it Jacie or Jackie. But now that I'm used to it, I ❤️ It!
Two famous bearers. Jackie Stewart, who won the 1969, 1971, and 1973 Forumla 1 championships, and Jackie Ickx, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans outright six times.
American actor Jackie Earle Haley, who has played many roles, the most famous of which probably being that of Freddy in the remake of the classic horror film A Nightmare On Elm Street.
I really dislike my given name (it's so boring, don't you know?), so I go by Jackie instead. It suits me quite well, but, you know, you'd have to be careful, not everybody is as unconventional as I, and some people hate the name.
A famous bearer of this name is British-born novelist Jackie Collins (born 4 October 1937), author of over twenty-five, including "The Stud", "Chances", "Hollywood Wives", "Lucky", and "Drop Dead Beautiful".
My name is Jacqueline, but everyone calls me Jackie. I really like it, and everyone who meets me says that they love it. I think it is a great name for girls, but I don't really like it as a boy name - it just sounds too feminine.

Jackie is the best name mostly because it's mine! I think it's really cool.
This is what I get called, since my name is Jacqueline. I think it is a wonderful name. I have only had it misspelled two ways (Jacquie and Jacky). I think this is a really good name. For one thing, it suits adults as well as children, males as well as females. And also when used on a female, it is good for a lady/girly girl as well as hoyden/tomboy (I fit the latter description, and it suits me perfectly).
