Ivanka

It is a lovely name ruined by association with the Trump’s.

I think Ivanka is a nice nickname, but I hate the Ivanka Trump association (and anything associated with the Trumps). I would be happy to meet a girl with this as a nickname outside of the US though.

I know an incredibly sweet girl named Ivanka, pronounced EE-vanka instead of the butchered American pronunciation AI-vanka. She hates the association with Trump and I think Ivanka is a beautiful name in its original form, without any mispronunciations and associations. Besides, the meaning is still "God's grace", as is every descendant of the original name Yochanan/Yehochanan.

Sounds a lot like a swear word/insult used in the UK. Fitting for Iwanker Trump.

Maybe a good name for a housefly. Ivanka Trump ruins any chance that it would be considered decent for a human. (Though I hated it before Trump as well)

I hate this name even aside from the Ivanka Trump association. I think it’s less dumb than Gertrude, but still dumb. I would totally use it on a pet, though. That would be hilarious.

I like the name okay, but the association with the criminal Trump family is too much, so I would never use it even for a pet.

Ivanka Trump is Ivana Marie, same as her mother, and I suppose she is called that to differentiate between her mother since they have the same name, like a guy named Robert might call his son Bobby. Since Ivana is known by Trump as her last name instead of her maiden name, Zelníčková, it would be very confusing if her daughter was also called that too and you don't see as many girls named after their mothers as boys named after their fathers.

Since Ivanka (or Ivana) is not a very common name in the US and it is mostly associated with the first daughter in their current political climate, but it sounds pleasant enough though the middle of it, the ank part, is very harsh to my ears. Ivana sounds softer as a name.

To extrapolate, if Ivan is the Russian form of John, that means Ivanka is basically the equivalent of Janie, Jeannie, or Joanie. I do hate anything to do with the Trump family, but I can't fault the name itself. It doesn't sound ugly, and it's easy to spell and pronounce. I think it's incredibly vain that Ivana named her daughter Ivanka, though. I feel equally negative about male children being named after their fathers.

I think this is a pretty name. I knew most people wouldn't like it because of Ivanka Trump.

I find this name hideous and it is only a diminutive. Ivanka Trump is also very negative as an association, and that isn't even her real name.

I admire Ivanka Trump greatly, but I don't like this name.
