Meaning & History

It is borne by the father (ithobaal I) of the biblical queen Jezebel and other Phoenician kings mentioned by the historian Josephus and Assyrian sources
He is also the father of Baal-Eser II
His name is said to believe "with Ba'al" Ba'al being the Canaanite god of fertility
