This name is very feminine to me and I was actually shocked to see it as a male's name. And not even that but "strictly" a males name. Male names ending with the letter a such as Joshua, Ezra, Luca\Luka & Misha for example- I can understand (they are fantastic on boys and for boys only) but "Ira" just does not scream "boy" to me at all. It's super feminine!
