Inmaculada Concepción, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, is a public holiday in Spain on 8th September. It commemorates the Catholic doctrine that the Virgin Mary was immaculate, meaning sinless and free of original sin, from the moment of her conception. The Immaculate Conception is a different doctrine from Mary's virgin birth of Jesus.

The definition given of this name would more accurately be "Mary's immaculate conception of Jesus." The present definition makes it seem like Mary was immaculately conceived.
