While as far as I know, Ingela is not a particularly fresh baby name option in Scandinavia at the moment, and would probably be quite tricky to use in an English-speaking country (I imagine people would mix it up with Angela a lot), I think it's a nice name. I really like Inga and Ingalill, but I think Ingela is spunkier than them. I imagine it on a heroine of some old Scandinavian children's book, who's a bit tomboyish and very adventurous. But on the other hand, on a grown woman it feels very stately.
Usages: Swedish, Norwegian (Rare)Pronunciation: ING-eh-lah(Swedish)Meaning: Originally derived from Old Swedish Ingel (und thus ultimately from Ingjäl), folk etymology sometimes considers this name a form of Ingalill ("little Inga").http://www.nordicnames.de/wiki/Ingela
