I prefer the spelling Indie. The name is cute though.
Indy is my daughter's middle name. It wouldn't have been that, but I had her when we were on our way to see the last Indiana Jones movie, so we named her after it. I still like it though, and even more because it has a story behind it for us, and ups our nerd status. :)
While the name makes me think of indie rock, indie electronic, and indie movies, all of which are positive things per se, I feel that this name is too nickname-y, and a bit youthful on grown-ups.
