Ilie Năstase (born July 19, 1946 in Bucharest) is a former Romanian professional tennis player and one of the top players of the 1970s. Nastase was the World No. 1 in 1973 according to tennis experts and the Association of Tennis Professionals computer, which ranked him first from August 23, 1973, through June 2, 1974.
