Meaning & History
From Sino-Korean 賢 (hyeon) meaning "virtuous, worthy, able", 鉉 (hyeon) which refers to a device used to lift a tripod cauldron, or 玄 (hyeon) meaning "dark, black, mysterious" combined with 石 (seok) meaning "stone", 碩 (seok) meaning "big, large" or 錫 (seok) meaning "tin". This name can be formed by other hanja character combinations as well.
