It seems I'm in the minority here, but that's okay. It takes all kinds. I think this name is extremely feminine and was surprised to find people thinking otherwise, but whatever. As far as flowery names for boys go, I really like the ancient Roman name Florian, instead. I'm sure that people would say the same to me. To each their own.

It is truly disappointing to see this name largely regarded as feminine.
The name Hyacinth comes from a tale of male lovers and untimely, accidental death. Seems in rather poor taste to consider using this name in reference to a female character, or an actual person, but I digress. Perhaps I'm simply biased since I know the history, or because I've only ever heard this name in reference to a man, whether he be fictional or real.
One of those very rare masculine flower names.Apparently a Spanish pet form is Jax, which sounds more masculine.
