Meaning & History

Hinat is the name found at the Tomb of Hinat, daughter of Wahbu, carved into Jabal al-Ahmar Necropolis of Hegra (Saudi-Arabia) 60 C.E. or 61 C.E., originating from the time of the Nabataeans. Hegra was the southernmost capital of the Nabatean people, a once-nomadic Arabian tribe. The Nabatean city peaked between about 50 BCE and 106 CE.

The descendants of the Nabateans are modern Arabs, especially Jordanian Arabs.
