This form is also used in Biblical German, e.g., in the Luther Bible. It is one of the few names not unified between protestant and catholic Bibles in the German language, the catholic Einheitsübersetzung uses Ezechiel. [noted -ed]
I like how soft this name sounds compared to Ezekiel- which I like too, but it's very dramatic sounding. Hesekiel though sounds like a little bird.
I have also seen this name as Hesikiah in a Family Descendant book. I think it is a honorable name and should be considered for those who like unique names.
This is another Finnish version of a Biblical name that is used pretty much strictly Biblically, and I can't imagine anyone naming their son this. I've never heard of this name on any Finnish person. It would sound pompous and sort of kooky, like the parents are religious lunatics who need to rub their religion in people's faces even through the names of their children.
