I am an avid reader of Hercule Poirot from Agatha Christie, and I consider this, the French version of Hercules, to be a slightly dandified but amusing name. This is not exactly the most usable name in the English-speaking world, but it will make the little Hercule very distinct from the Johns, Michaels, and Matthews.

Hercule (1555-1584) was the birthname of one of the sons of King Henry II of France and his wife Catherine de Medici. He later changed his name officially to Francois.
In the popular anime series, PSP visual novel, and Bushiroad card game, Hercule is the name of one of the girls in the Milky Holmes group. Her Toy is super-strength.
