Latinized form of Greek Ἡφαιστίνη (Hephaistine), a feminine derivative of Hephaistion or Hephaistos. In Greek mythology, Hephaestine was one of the wives of Aegyptus. Their children were Idas, Daiphron, Pandion, Arbelus, Hyperbius and Hippocorystes.
