Meaning & History
Hellenized form of the Carian name 𐊴𐊭𐊪𐊵𐊫 (k̂tmno), possibly composed of Carian -mno "son" and a relative of Hittite katta "under", ultimately meaning "under-son" or "descendent". Influenced by the name of the goddess Hecate, giving it the meaning of "son of Hecate".
