In the Netherlands, we call the Grim Reaper 'Magere Hein' (Skinny Hein).

In the German-speaking world, the Grim Reaper is known as the Sensenmann ("Scythe Man") and the Schnitter ("Cutter"):

However, in addition to him, they have another personification of death. His name is Freund Hein ("friend Hein") as well as Bruder Hein ("brother Hein"):

Clearly, this second (and seemingly lesser known) personification of death is closer to that of the Dutch - at least in name. Who knows, perhaps his name was even inspired by Magere Hein to some extent, since Freund Hein as a concept is younger than both him and the Sensenmann: he was first mentioned in the 17th century, whereas Magere Hein and the Sensenmann were already around in the 14th century (i.e. the late Middle Ages).
