I'm not saying that I like this name, but I do agree that the whole "but He is a pronoun" thing in this situation is not the way to go. Great in China, not so great in America, but I don't NOT like it.
There's really no good way to describe in English the way this name is pronounced. It does not sound anything like the word "He"I would say it's closer to the short oo sound in "book" than anything else.
I get that it's not pronounced as the English word (though spelled like it so not usuable in any English speaking countries) Its dumb anyway cause it sounds more like a sound!Awful. Not to diss Chinese names at all but there are better ones out there. More feminine ones at that

People are so ignorant of foreign names. You should learn how to pronounce it before you criticize. Though I do think that 'He' should be avoided, especially in English-speaking areas, as it will probably be misunderstood and ridiculed.
I understand that not everyone will enjoy all the names in the world, but please be more courteous when stating your opinion. I for one found your above comment very insulting.

Chinese linguistics can't be compared to English. The name isn't pronounced as "hee", although it may look like the masculine pronoun. It's more accurately said as 'huh', with a kind of dip in the voice.
