I was named Harvey, which was my Dad's middle name, and the name he went by, so I grew up using my middle name, Allen, instead. I hated the name Harvey as a little kid because other kids made fun of it and compared me to the invisible rabbit in the James Stewart movie, which I've never seen to this day and I'm 63 now. It's only been the last few years I've come to accept it because all government forms, ID, etc., require the use of the first name. The other comments here have made me feel much, much better about my name now, and I appreciate it!
Harvey Kinkle is a character from Archie Comics' "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" comic book series. Ross Lynch portrayed him on "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina".
Nobody's willing to use that name anymore due to the fact that one of its bearers stands charged with rape crimes. I'm talking the now-disgraced Weinstein.

Not a bad name, but it's been a pretty terrible year for the name Harvey...
Never cared for this name. It sounds like something hipsters would call their son. Plus I think it's going to take a nosedive in popularity due to the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Harvey was the name given to a Cooper's hawk that recently became an internet sensation when she flew into a cab to escape the hurricane for which she was named. She'd sustained a minor injury to her wing and was too stunned to leave. She was rehabilitated and released back into the wild. Harvey the hawk became a symbol of hope and recovery in the wake of the storm, and is the only famous female bearer of this name (to be fair, the cabbie who rescued her thought she was male).
I don't like it! It is the name of the hurricane that devastated Houston and other parts of Texas.

Harvey Beaks is a cartoon on Nickelodeon. The main character is a bird named Harvey Beaks who's 9 years old lives in the woods with the other animals. He has a very strong conscience, and the plot of every episode is usually that one of his friends convinces him to do something he probably shouldn't and then feels overly guilty about it. It's a very cute cartoon and a very cute namesake.

There is more than one Harvey in the Batman universe. Detective Harvey Bullock and District Attorney Harvey Dent who, as a previous poster wrote, becomes Two-Face. Also the internet reviewer Lewis "Linkara" Lovhaug has a character called Harvey Finevoice.
After playing through Final Fantasy IV again, I've come to the conclusion that this works MUCH better as a surname than a first name.

I am sorry but when I hear this name I think the kid would have insecurities and be a brat, I get this impression from the old cartoon I used to watch when I was a kid called Codename: Kids Next Door. But I can also think of it as a very daring man, the impression from the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter that is one of the teachers first name.

Reminds me of Harvey from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but he was adorable, so it's a good association.
