Back in the 90’s when Harley/Harlee became a very popular baby name.. I liked that name but my brain kept thinking how beautiful and so girly the name Hartley would be. I doodled it surrounded by little hearts and it was my pick! I eventually got the honor to use Hartley Marie for my daughter in 2006! And she loves her name except she gets called Harley a lot! We have both been complimented on how beautiful her name is and unique as well hundreds of times! The singer Sugar Ray has a daughter named Hartley Rose (I adore Rose but I used Marie to honor my mother).
I loved the name so much, I named my daughter Heartley in 2019. I felt like spelling it the way I did, made it more feminine. Also, paid homage to my name, Ashley, by ending it with ley. Her name just fits her so well, I couldn’t imagine it being anything other than Heartley.
Hartley is the first child of co-host Jedediah Blia and her husband Jeremy Scher.

I love the name Hartley for a girl only! I don’t really think Hartley can suit a male though, sorry! It’s just way too feminine. The name has something to do with romance and beauty and none of those two words are masculine characteristics. Heart makes a cute nickname for Hartley! I’ll agree it’s unisex, but I would name a girl Hartley, but not a boy.

The name Hartley was given to 132 girls born in the US in 2015.
We named our daughter Hartley, Hart for short. We got nothing but compliments on her name. One little kid asked her name and told us he knew why we named her Hartley... because we knew she would be so cute. Hart definitely fit our beautiful girl, she was a very loving baby. Not one person had a negative comment about her unique name.
I think this is a great name for both genders. I really don't understand why this name isn't more popular than it is, considering it goes great with the current -ley trend and is very similar to the rising name Hadley.

I know this is a boy name, but I love it for a girl :P. I find it really feminine, I know, almost everyone disagrees with me, but I really only like it for a girl!
