Etymology not certain; possibly derived from Gorneu meaning "of Cornwall."Goreu fab Custennin (Goreu son of Custennin), also known as Gorau, is a hero of Welsh and early Arthurian mythology, son of Custennin and cousin to Arthur, Culhwch and Illtud through their grandfather Amlawdd Wledig. He is a significant character in Culhwch ac Olwen, and also appears in numerous other texts.
