Giuliana Rancic is an Italian-American television personality. Rancic was born in Naples, Italy and immigrated to the United States with her family at age seven. She had surgery to correct her scoliosis during her late teens. In 1996, she received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a master's degree in journalism from American University. During this time, she worked for a Capitol Hill news bureau covering stories related to the U.S. government. Rancic also graduated from Barbizon Modeling and Acting School.
My daughter is named Giulianna. My maternal great grand parents came over from Calabria and my biological father was born in San Mauro (& Anzi), Sicily. She does't have the extra G like those northeners like to use and I put in a second n toward the end to make it more unique. She's named after my wife's (hungarian) grandmother Juilia and my grandmother Anna. But there was no way we were spelling it other than Southern Italian / Sicilian (says the elder folk). I'll try to say it like the homeland says it and how we pronounce it because their way is hard, lolMotherland: Gee-oo-lee-ah-na (think Giovani)My wife and i: Jewel-lee-ahn-na (think Julie Ahnna).
My name is Gilliana which is similar to Giuliana, people have always pronounced my name as Giulana though. However, I think that both names are unique and beautiful.

This was almost my name, but my mother decided to spell it "Julianna." I kinda wished she spelled it the traditional Italian way.

Giuliana Rancic (née DePandi) is a host on E! News and wife of Bill Rancic and stars in the reality show Giuliana and Bill.
Actuallay, this site is wrong. The name "Giuliana" means "daughter of Jupiter", who was Zeus, or Giove, (king of the gods) in Greek/Roman mythology. The name derives from Latin. "Giuliano" means son of Zeus (Giove) not Julius which is completely different. And the pronunciation of Giuliana is always mispronounced by Americans. The usually say "ulli ana" or guuliana" which are both completely off. In Italian, it begins with giu, which is pronounces ju. I would know all this and I am completely certain this is accurate because my name is Giuliana and I am Italian. This site should really look up the real meanings of the names.
Really, I'm almost POSITIVE it derives from 'Julius/Julia'. It may not be my name, but I daresay I've done plenty of study of names and languages and I'm fairly certain.

Giuliana is a very nice name. It was my beloved aunt's name, one more reason to like it.
Giuliana is a very elegant name and it is powerful. It is my name well. I spell it GiuGliana with an extra G because my family came from Italy. The Gl is pronounced ylee so this is more used in northern Italy instead of American Italians if you know what I mean.
I fancy this pronounced like "Juliana" (I've heard it pronounced "GOAL-ee-onna" and "JEE-ool-ee-anna"). Although I like both Juliana and Giuliana, Giuliana would have to be a bit higher on my favorites list than Juliana, as it seems very pretty and odd, in a good way. ;)
