I feel like over time your opinion on names can really change, and that is what has happened to me. I used to just not like it, I'm not even sure why but a few years later and I honestly think it's super pretty. I don't know why but when I think of the name Georgia, I picture a girl with red hair. Here are a few middle names that I think are really nice with Georgia: -Georgia Faye -Georgia Brynn -Georgia Claire -Georgia Mae π.
Whenever I think of the name Georgia, I can only think of the song, "Georgia on My Mind," by Ray Charles. One of the most heartfelt and beautiful songs I have ever listened to.If I was only allowed one name, for one daughter, you wouldn't have to tell me. It would be Georgia.
This is my name, and I like it quite a lot. If you pronounce it Jee-or-je-ah you are insane. It's pronounced Jor-jah. Also, it's spelled Georgia. If you spell it like Jorja, please get help.

My name is Georgia and for some reason, I really donβt like it. Iβve always wanted to change it but I canβt see myself with any other name.
My name is Georgia but many people call me George and I love it. For some reason I love the idea of a girl having a boyish nickname :)

I love this name! Itβs so pretty. I actually know someone with this name. We call her the Spanish pronunciation of George (hor-he). I also like this name because of Georgia OβKeefe.
My name is Savannah, named after the city Savannah, Georgia. Iβm currently 8 months pregnant with our first and we are planning to name her Jorja. Of course I wanted to spell it Georgia to play off my name and to play the sing βGeorgia On My Mindβ to her but then thought Georgia looked too masculine and could easily be mistaken for Georgie and looked too much like George. Iβm so torn on it but I still think even though the spelling is different the meaning to us is the same; still plays off my name, still can play the song for her, and it still is very classy and feminine.
I have a granddaughter named Georgia. I have 9 grandchildren with 3 girls and it is my favourite name. For a nickname she's Gigi, which the family has shortened to Gig (pronounced jeej) and I still love it. She's 7 now and I think it's a fun girl's name but it will be an elegant woman's name.
Georgia is easily in my top 15 list of girls names. I absolutely love it.

Georgia and Georgina are both a bit too 'orangey' sounding.

Would be a nice name for a daughter, but any surname she'd have would probably make it sound more like a place, such as Georgia Field or Georgia West, for instance.
Hushpuppy, convenient that you pick geography related last names, I can give examples how Georgia doesn't have to sound like it's a map: Georgia Taylor, Georgia Darling, Georgia Collins and Georgia Swift. That doesn't sound like states, I think Georgia is a beautiful name and it sounds really sweet. It's a classic and it doesn't or shouldn't matter that it's becoming popular. All that matters is that you like it as a name.
Itβs an okay name, personally I think names with nicknames are cute, and you can easily just call out one syllable to get their attention. I donβt like how the nickname would be Georgie.
Beautiful name! One of my favorite feminine variations of the name George. We have a sweet cousin by the name Georgia, so I have a good impression her name.

My name is also Georgia. Being named after my father (george) makes me feel as though my name is that much more beautiful and special. Although where I live people usually replace the a with an e, and call me Georgie. It is very frustrating. I always hated having my beautiful name misspelled or incorrectly pronounced. Having it turned into a mockery of "Georgie" and the silly nursery rhyme would soon follow, was horrid.I have a daughter named Georgiana Margaret Grace.

My name is Georgia and although mostly I find people have a generally good perception of the name, I've always found it overly common in people my age (I'm a 90s child) so I never found it special. I don't hate it as much as I did growing up though, because I've grown to like George, which is close. I don't like the Jorja spelling though, it's horrible and I've seen people spell my name that way (like in Starbucks) and it makes me cringe. Really, is it that difficult to learn how to spell a word that is also the name of a country and a state in America not to mention a group of islands? Also, I've suffered my whole life with people imagining there is an 'n' anywhere in my name thus calling me Georgina.
I dislike the name Georgia. It's not very feminine sounding in my ears.

My daughter goes by Gigi to her siblings and George by her father and I. I must say I do not like the spelling Jorja! My daughter is actual Georgia Olivia.
Georgia is a great name. Especially if someone is having twin boy and girl. Then they'll be called George and Georgia. To answer one of the commentaters Questions... No this name isn't as popular in the U.S. This name also reminds me of the fruit. Georgia Peach.
I am 61 years old and my birth was registered in 1952 in Scotland. My father was told he couldn't register my name because no one in Glasgow had ever been called that before. My father insisted and named me Georgia. I don't really know if I was the first but would love to know. I did feel a bit self conscience of my modern name when at school and couldn't imagine being old and having my name, but here I am nearly a pensioner and really like it and the meaning of Georgia is me to a T!
I think this name is sweet, who cares if it's a state?

It's the original of all the Georg- names for girls. I love all of them - even Georgette though don't like the other French one so much, Georgine. They are all delectable. Georgia is sunny, warm and rich.

Georgia is a really trendy name! It's stylish without being tacky.
Lovely :) My sisters name. Definitely suits a smiley blonde.

I'm not fond of the sharp, squashy sound of Georgia, or how masculine it seems. I also shy away from using place names- I make exceptions, but I don't like state names in general. I'm definitely not planning on using this, but who knows? It's not that bad.
One of my personal faves :) I've always quite liked the name Georgia, because it reminds me of a warm summer day. And I actually absolutely adore the nickname Georgie. Call her Georgie when she's little, and then she can grow into the more mature sounding Georgia.
I love this name for a girl, which is really odd considering that I don't like the name George for a boy. I just think this name is very beautiful and classy, and works well on a little girl and a grown women.
This is my name, and I must say that I really love it. At first, when I was like, five to ten, I hated it, because it wasn't as "modern" as my friends' names (Ashley, Hannah, Taylor, etc.) but now I love it! It's very unique, and is a strong, mature name, as well as a fun, quirky one!
This is my name and I love it. However, it used to be (decades ago -- I'm old) that everyone could spell it. Now I have to spell it out for people. It also used to be that everyone could pronounce it. Now I get Jorj-ee-ah as often as Jor-jah. I think my name is making a bit of a comeback and I'm glad to see it. Mick Jagger has a girl named Georgia.
This is a beautiful name, one of my favourites. I dislike the spelling Jorja, though. Georgia and Jorja are in the Top 100 in Australia, Georgia is a popular name in England, too. I hope it wonΒ΄t become too popular in the USA.
