For sure Garšāsp was the name of a Persian hero who was depicted fighting mythic creatures, like a dragon as big as a hill (similar to Saint George). Could it be related to the name Kersāspa (“having a lean horse”)? 'Gar' mean "mountain", 'karš-' mean "to plough" and 'Āspa' means "horse", but I don't know the etymology of this name nor its structure.
