Russian Empresses (and Grand Duchesses who married into the family) usually took on the patronym derived from this name which means 'gift of god'. Examples would be Yelizaveta and Aleksandra Fyodorovna; the latter being the last Empress of Russia.
It's a good, strong name. It may cause some teasing in America, however. It also sounds somewhat like the hat fedora. Many people have pointed that out!
