@5174 Saying that a name can sound "harsh" isn't very useful, and it's offensive. There are all types of names in all types of languages with all types of pronunciations and in those cultures where you would find their sound to be 'harsh', those pronunciations and spellings are considered a good thing.@75643812 The idea that girls' names must contain some sort of pleasant trait (as you imply), be it in meaning, origin or sound is outdated and harmful. It perpetuates a stereotype of girls as nothing but sweet and cute while boys' names are on the other side of the same stereotype, but their names are always about strength and power. Girls' names can be strong and boys' names can be cute. Stop upholding stereotypes. Plus, the attitudes that older people and adults have about children and the way they dress, how they play, etc. And yes, their classmates' names will be passed down to those children and it will translate into bullying. Children get those bully attitudes from you.Neither of you considered the website saying right above the comment box "Be as kind as possible. Consider that children may be reading the comments about their own names."If you're alive today and not angry then you're not paying attention. This is a great name. It's fitting for any era of human society, and I would want my daughter to know she can take on anything.
