Xu (徐) Mingfu (铭甫), born in 1997, is an alpine skier who competed for China at the 2022 Winter Olympics in the downhill, Super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and combined. He was the first Chinese athlete to finish a downhill alpine skiing competition.
In the Naruto anime and manga, there are two characters with this name: • Fu, a kunoichi from Takigakure and the jinchūriki of the Seven-Tails. • Fu Yamanaka, a shinobi from Konohagakure's Yamanaka clan as well as a high-ranking ninja of the disbanded Anbu faction: Root.

I can think of two characters with this name: Fu, a male character from the manga/anime Fullmetal Alchemist; and Fuu (spelled slightly differently but pronounced the same), a female character from the anime Samurai Champloo.
Not very common. Pronounce: as iht iz spelt! duh1.

In the Korean movie "Musa" (called "the Warrior" in English) the Ming princess is called Furong. She's played by the beautiful Zhang Ziyi. Because of the character, I think Furong is a very pretty name (even though it's also the name of an (in)famous Chinese internet blogger). I like the way Furong can mean "lotus" or "hibiscus".

Fu would probably only work as a middle name. And even then, it might be smart to avoid naming your child this because it is spelled 'F-U', and I assume you know what that means. However, it's still a nice name, despite the alternate meanings.
What? That's an awful name! People would pronounce it incorrectly like EFF-YOO. Not the way it is supposed to be pronounced.

Uh, No I don't think they would. Let's pretend your name is Lia. Would people pronounce your name Ell-Eye-Aye? No they wouldn't, they wouldn't; I'm sure people know to pronounce each letter sound of the word. Or at least that was what I thought they taught in kindergraden.
