Pros : it sounds unforgettable and is a hard name to be mispronounced.Cons : when I hear it, I can only think of a fat, old or mid-aged man with big glasses.
I like this name a lot. I also like Freddie and Frederick.
I LOVE the name. It's my second FAV name I just LOVE IT SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.
I used to like Fred, but started to forget about it once the film "Big Hero 6" came out. However, it's still okay as a nickname for Frederick.
In my opinion this name can be really cute and attractive on a certain person, but on other people it just doesn't work.
It makes me think of frogs for a reason I’m not sure about.
Well, Freddie is Eddie's pet frog on Little People. Also...Fred isn't one of my favorites. It's too nicknamey and bland. Fred reminds me too much of Mister Roger's neighborhood, Scooby Doo, and the Flintsones. Those aren't very bad associations, but still. Frederick is nice, though. Fred would be okay as a nickname for Frederick.
It's kinda cute!
I hate it, reminds me of Fred Durst and a grumpy old man.
Fred and Frederick has far more stigma than it deserves.
This name strikes me instantly as masculine with a good athletic and academic mix. It is traditional and I think of an All-American type man or boy, a college baseball or football player.
I used to like this name. But Fred Phelps ruined it! I hate this name now! No offense to any Freds out there!
I love this name, mostly because it was Mr. Rogers' first name. Is there any better namesake for a child?
It's an okay name, but I much prefer Freddie as a pet form of Frederick.
It's old fashioned and kind of plain, but for some reason, I like it.
I hate this name. It sounds terrible and old. I'm not one for the classics, though.
Famous bearer is Fred Savage.
I don't really like it, it's too old-fashioned. It does suit some people though when you look at them.
