Florina is also in use in the Portuguese-speaking world (primarily Brazil) and the German-speaking world as well as in the following countries: Croatia, Hungary and Italy. The name is rare in all of the aforementioned, but out of all of them, the prevalence seems to be highest in the Portuguese-speaking world.
In Italy, this name can also be a diminutive of Flora, as -ina is an Italian feminine diminutive suffix:

Flora is preferable, and will continue to be more popular than Florina.
