I absolutely adore this name. It's so elegant-sounding, smooth, beautiful, exotic, and overall gorgeous. I also love the variants Firuza, Fairuza, and Firouzeh.

It was primarily "piruzak" in middle Persian and Arabs adapted it with changing the "p" sound into "f"; because as you may know in spite of Persian, Arabic has not these sounds in its alphabet : g, ç, p, ž.
