Meaning & History

A fictional character created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Fíriel was a Númenórean noblewoman, the daughter of Orontor, a member of the Faithful's faction and a friend of Elendil. When her father departed, she was left as a maiden in the household of Elendil. While Elendil and his son were approaching their home, they heard that Fíriel was singing a sad song in Quenya.
