I've always loved this name. Could work on an adorable little girl, a beautiful and intelligent young woman, and a sweet old lady. Although, being a man of God, I am biased.

My sister was given this name. She actually ended up legally changing her name due to the discomfort of the religious connotation it brought her.

Faith Bandler, AC, MBE (1918 – 2015; née Ida Lessing Faith Mussing), was an Australian civil rights activist of South Sea Islander and Scottish-Indian heritage. A campaigner for the rights of Indigenous Australians and South Sea Islanders, she was best known for her leadership in the campaign for the 1967 referendum on Aboriginal Australians.
Everyone over here talking about religious connotations - let me tell you. My parents named me Christian Faith. Always hated it. My parents were Christians obviously - but not overbearing. I, myself on the other hand do not consider myself religious. 27 year old former emo kid. My mom calls me “Rainbow Brite”. I got my name from being my parents’ “miracle baby” like many other Faiths. I’ve always gone by my middle name - but as an artist/photographer/model - I started using both my first and middle name together because of the amount of controversy and disbelief it caused. I hear all the puns, the song references, I get the angry messages for making Christians “look bad” lol but in my early 20’s I really learned to love it. Plus - living in the south, it ALWAYS has gotten me call backs for job applications 😂.
If I encounter a person named Faith, I assume they are religious in a way that makes me uncomfortable (evangelical, for example). I realize that this could be the wrong impression, since Faith can be a secular virtue just as easily as it is a religious virtue. But I suspect there are many more Faiths who have ostentatiously devout parents than don't.
It’s better as a middle name even if it’s a bit of a filler. Not that interesting but not that boring either. Can’t say I particularly like it though. Solid 7/10.
Faith has always been one of my favorite names, as I've treasured it very deep in my heart. It is just amazingly beautiful. Faith means to believe in something you cannot see. As a Christian, that means so much to my spirit. The name represents hope in a higher power, strength and loyalty. I always have and always will love this gorgeous name.
This is a good middle name for Olivia and Isabella! And it's a nice first name!

Faith is a name that only works for a young adult/teen.
My name is Faith and I was born on Halloween and my sister, Toni, was born on the same day, she is two years older than me. My mother had very painful labor pains with my sister Toni. So on October 31, 1958 @ 329pm I was born! My mother said she had prayed to God to have an easy labor and delivery, and God granted her wish! When it came to naming me my mother said it would be Faith, Hope or Charity! The attending nurse said why not Faith? Because of what she prayed to God to not to bear any pain! My name and I have lots of Faith in god! If you add the letters in F. a. i. t. h. they equal 44=8 6. 1. 9. 20. 8=44 G. 0. D. =7+15+4=26=8=infinity I Am 62 years 0ld. God planted the thought to my mom to name her gifted daughter Faith.
I think this is cute as a middle name and first I would keep it spelled this way though. I think it’s cute as a middle name, you could do like Brielle Faith.
I like this name, I think it's best as a middle name. It goes with many names.Amanda Faith Eliana Faith Sabrina Faith Eliza FaithSee? Perfect Middle Name!
I’m pregnant with my second child, a girl. I currently have one son from a previous relationship named Kingston Reilly and now I really want to name my daughter Faythlee or Faythley, or some other spelling. Kingston usually goes by King and I want my baby girl to go by Faythe. Her middle name is going to be Brynn. Anyway, I really like this name but I prefer it spelled Faythe because Faith is too wordy. Yes, I’m aware they are pronounced the same but a spelling can change things. I also think Faythe is a very beautiful and more feminine-looking spelling. I also like Faythleigh but I’ve gotten pretty criticized on that one so we aren’t using it. If I have another daughter I will probably call her Payzlee or Zoee because I like unique spellings. Faith is a beautiful name but I prefer Faythe or Faythley.

I actually never met anyone with this name, neither has anyone in my family met anyone with this name! And I worked in daycare, so as common as it is to some people, it is not common at all to me. And I might just be the first in my social life to use this name!

I love the name and the meaning and the beautiful sound, however, it’s extremely lipsy as the pronunciation has F and TH in one syllable.
Kinda lispy sounding and reminds me too much of the word Faith. I wouldn't name my daughter this unless I was super religious.

My name is Faith. I mean I love this name on me, but sometimes it can get annoying. People walk up to me at school and say "I don't have Faith in you, Faith." That is the most annoying part about my name. Or when I go for a tackle (I play on a girl's tackle football team) they say, "Faith, I have Faith in you." That can get annoying. It's even worse because my middle name is Freedom, but I'm not even close to religious! It isn't a bad thing that you are or aren't. It just depends on who you are!
My name is Faith, and I wouldn't ask for a better name. My sister's name is Hope (no, we don't have anyone named Love or Charity). If I had to choose a different name, it would probably be Neveah (but I spell it Naveah) because I think Neveah is a beautiful name that I'll give to my daughter one day.
I met a dog named this once. Overall I don’t like the name, sounds too religious.

My name is Faith, and I honestly hate my name. I’d use my middle name, but it’s Mackenzie, which is just as bad and ugly in my opinion. No offense to any others called Faith, and it sounds nice for other people, but just not me. I don’t know, I kinda can just imagine myself with so many other names. My initials are F.M. M, so one can only imagine what my nicknames are and what I’ve been called, including F.M. Radio, Monty Python (Last name is similar to Monty, ha ha, funny).
I just played a game where I was called Faith with one of my friends Connie and my sister Betsy. I chose it because I think it can suit lots of personalities. The others were Truly and Peace.

Faith Meredith is Reverend Meredith's oldest daughter in Rainbow Valley. She often gets into trouble for her mischievousness. She gets married to Jem Blythe in Rilla of Ingleside.
If you don't like the way "Faith" sounds, I have found that I really like the Hebrew version "Emunah", it literally means Faith and is also beautiful and feminine.
My name is Faith. I love the name. I am religious but that has nothing to do with my name or why I was named Faith. I have never been asked if I was religious and no one has ever sung me any songs about Faith. I have been told puns and jokes which I really don't mind because I think it's cool that people actually take the time to come up with stuff (even if the jokes are cheesy sometimes). My husband liked to make puns with my name before we got married and I found it cute and enduring. People now like to ask him if he has Faith and he'll pull me to him and say he's the only one who has true Faith. When I tell people my name they always tell me how pretty it is. I have never gotten anything but a very positive response toward the name Faith. I do not, however, like being called Faithy because I feel like most people say it in a demeaning way. Only my mom and my husband are allowed to call me Faithy. I grew up a tomboy and in many ways still am. I am not frilly or overly girly and I have never met a Faith that was. When it's all said and done, I absolutely adore my name. I take it as a reminder to be strong, courageous, and confident. It makes me feel beautiful and womanly and I am grateful that my mom chose it for me. I have been through a lot of hard things in my life and my name has stood as a beacon to remind me that I can come out a better person for it.

Faith Yang is a pop musician and fashion model. She grew up in Sydney, Australia and studied biology and genetics at the University of Sydney. In 2000 Faith won the Taiwan Golden Music awards for Best Female Performer and was nominated for Best Album (Silence). After graduating from Sydney University, Yang returned to Taiwan to start a music career. She soon gained recognition at the university and pub circuit in Taiwan while touring with her backing band - Monster. In 1996 she signed with Magicstone records. Her first two albums are heavily influenced by the Australian pub rock style, with a gothic undertone noticeable in tracks such as "Silence", "Fear" and "Monster", while her third album has a lighter pop style, with only hints of the anger evident in the first two recordings. All three albums were major hits in Taiwan and in 2000 Faith won the Taiwan Golden Music awards for Best Female Performer and was nominated for Best Album (Silence). Faith did not renew her contract with Magicstone, claiming the label had become too commercial for her style of music. In 2004 it was reported that she had signed with Sony label Silver Fish Records. Her first album with Silver Fish Records, "Continuation (女爵)", was released December 2007, with "Self-Selected," an album of English-language covers, released in April 2009. Faith also works as a fashion and cosmetics model for companies such as Rado and Neutrogena, as well as continuing to tour on the Taiwan pub circuit. She has also considered a number of acting roles. In 2000 Faith played a lead part in the 20 part web movie "175 Degrees of Colour Blindness (175度色盲)".
Faith Renée Evans is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, actress, and author. Born in Florida and raised in New Jersey, Evans relocated to Los Angeles in 1993 for a career in the music business. After working as a backing vocalist for Al B. Blige and Carl Thomas and released three platinum-certified studio albums between 1995 and 2001, including Faith, Keep the Faith and Faithfully.
My name is Faith Ann (first and middle) and to respond to the comments above regarding the fact that a lot of the people who are named Faith are super religious. I can say that I am not. I am the farthest thing from religious. My family are casually religious. My mother just liked the name. There isn't any kind of deeper meaning than that. I wasn't a miracle baby or anything and I had no complications at birth aside from being 2 weeks late. I have heard the George Michael song "Faith" sung to me more times than I can count (including a joke how what my mother said when she was having me 'I gotta have Faith faith Faith" *eye roll*. Get asked "Where's hope and charity?" Get drug into unwanted religious conversations based off of my name and have often gotten "yelled at" when I say I'm not religious when people ask me if I am based on my name. I even had one guy at a former job lecture me for 20 minutes about how I was going to go to hell and how he didn't want me to blah blah blah and proceeded to recommend me bible verses to read. So those things are pretty annoying. I think as I get older (I am currently in my mid 20s) I will start going by Fae or Faye.
Kind of a name I feel like redneck parents give their daughter, also it sounds like a stripper.

My name is Faith. But not because my mom just liked the name (she liked the name too but there was another reason) when I was born I had the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck 2 or 3 times. And then two weeks later after my mom took me home from the hospital, I had to go back due to a collapsed lung and a half infection filled lung. The doctors told my mom that I wouldn't make it through the night. Eventually I recovered and got a lot better, but I did have to deal with asthma for the next 10 years of my life. I am now 14 going into freshman year, and I am glad that I got better. I don't feel as strong as the baby that fought to stay alive in the hospital that night, but I'm glad I fought, and I'm just gonna keep fighting through this life with my head held high. Because I know I was strong at point, so why can't I be strong again?
Faith is my sister's name, I like it very much! We are not religious but she gets asked if we are a lot, due to her name. She was named Faith because my parents liked it, not due to religion.
When I was a kid, I got a lot of teasing about whether I had a sister named Faith (my name is Destiny.) I started to dislike the name purely because of that running joke, and I admit my bias against it still stands today. Even if I didn't have this association, I don't think I'd like the name anyway, as it sounds like a bratty little girl's name to me and I hate the nickname "Faithy." The religious connotations put me off as well, as I have yet to meet a Faith who wasn't extremely religious, along with her family.
This is my first name and I love it. My mom and dad named me Faith because they had Faith in me. I don't think that you have to have a religion or live in a family of god to respect this name. :)

Kind of confusing. I'm French and aboriginal so it's weird to know that my name is English.
I don't like this name. It's unimaginative and sounds like something you'd name a very plain girl. I like the meaning of the word Faith, but as a name it is really blah.

All those comments on this site talking about some name not fitting a 50 or 80 year old are ridiculous! What, is everyone supposed to name their child an "old name" because they will be elderly some day?! Guess we all better name our kids Ethel, Myrtle, or Agnes (no offense to anyone with those names). Better tell all those people with beautiful names like Faith and Ellie that when they hit age 50 they're gonna have to change their names now because they are old, old and not youthful and beautiful anymore. Seriously, folks!
Faith is basically believing something without any reason. I absolutely hate that. The sound of the same is okay, but the actual word is horrible (in my opinion). I apologize if your name is Faith, I am sure you are lovely, but that isn't going to keep me from expressing my opinion on a name.

I love it! I am religious, so it suits me fine. My future daughter might hopefully be Hannah Faith _____. Perfect for anyone :D.
Maybe it's ok as a middle name. But the sound is kinda harsh though, and it has the religious associations. I guess you could get the nickname Faithie though.

Faith is the vampire slayer from buffy. She is cool & I luv the tv show.
My name is Faith, and while I love my name it's a complete oxymoron. I'm atheist, it's kind of problematic when I comes to being taken seriously at talking about my lack of Faith. While I still do love my name there is a major problem that DRIVES ME INSANE these 20 years I've had it. Endlessly I've heard George Michael's song Faith sung to me over no over, I've been told in punny jokes to have Faith, be faithful, keep the Faith, and every time I celebrate something in which I receive gifts I ALWAYS receive items with my name on it. It's soooooooooooo annoying, I'm grateful people think of me, but it's weird to walk into a person's room and they have thousands of things with their name on it. It's a beautiful name, I know many (it's like a club because we've never met anyone else with our names before) from my blogging that have the name who feel the same and totally opposite so it's just something to think about...
I always think of Faith, Hope, & Charity together. ;) All three are nice names--sweet, but with a strength imparted by the virtue. Faith certainly isn't reserved for use by religious parents.
My name is Faith, and I guess I like it. My middle name is Juliette, and I like that slightly better... but Faith is nice. I think most people like it.
Faith is one of my favorite names! It is so pure, sweet, simple, short, and beautiful! I want to name my first daughter "Faith Emmanuelle", which means to have trust that god is with us. Beautiful!

Well, seeing how so many religious names are becoming so trendy and *over*popular, I guess it's not a surprise that this is in the top 100. But... It's a little too religious. When you think about it, "Faith" is kind of a strange thing to name your daughter. It's kind of sweet, but a little odd. But that's just coming from someone who doesn't typically like virtue names, with the exception of Grace and Hope.

Faith is a great name that goes into a deep meaning. Many babies who have trouble being born are named or middle named this, so it shouldn't be a hated name. I really dislike the names Hope, Destiny and Charity but I'm a fan of Faith. It isn't too sassy or dull. Faiths are very kind- I know one and even though she's blonde, flexible and skinny, is really caring and nice. FAITH RULES!
I've always considered Faith to be a very religious name. Religious, not Christian. I love the name Faith (or Hope) for a little girl because I am putting my faith (or hope) in the world in her. She will embody the best in humanity and her name will show that. (All parents have big dreams for their kids.)
Every time I hear this name, I automatically think of the song "Faith" by George Michael.

Nine-year-old Mary "Faith" Battaglia was shot and killed by her father, John Battaglia, in his Dallas apartment on May 2nd, 2001. Faith and her younger sister, Liberty's, murder was a wake-up call to law enforcement, who over the next fewyears proceeded to make more airtight, protective domestic violence and abuse laws.
A friend of mine named her little girl Faith, after the slayer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So we always think of it as a strong, powerful name, not anything particularly religious.
I'm not too fond of this name, since it sounds too religious and kind of trashy. Still, at least it sounds better than "virtue names" such as Destiny, Heaven, and Miracle.
I love the name Faith, even with the religious connotations. I've probably been influenced by the aforementioned Faith from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but oh well. I usually don't like names like this (e.g. Grace, Hope, Joy), but I make an exception for Faith. Also, butchering the spelling of a name does not make a name better. So, stop trying to make the spelling 'creative' and just name her Faith! Oh, and there's a bipedal dog named Faith. Just thought I should add that.

It is a sweet name, yet it still can be mature. Love it! (:
My name is Faith. I actually love my name! But not just because it's pretty, pure, and inviting- I was named this for a reason. There were problems with me being born, but I came out perfectly fine. I don't feel pressure to be perfect or trustworthy. Although I do believe I'm very loyal- but not because of my name. And, Faith doesn't mean perfect, as far as I know of! I accept your opinion if you say it's a frilly name. But, I'm also very strong, bold, and unique. Just like my name. I can't imagine being named anything else! Actually, this name has been becoming more popular. My best friend is named Faith (How ironic?!). So, for those of you who think this is a terrible name, and that it's hard to live up to, THINK AGAIN~
I love this name. Faith has helped me through the hardest times in my life. Now as far as naming your kid this; that would truly depend. I like what it means and stands for. But that's me.
I love this name. I didn't choose my nickname out of religious meanings, but because I had 'Faith' in myself and that helped me through some hard times.
Although religious beliefs aren't the only thing that requires faith, this name is distinctly religious, and a bit sentimental and tacky. Atheists would hardly pick this name, as they'd rather not take things on faith as a rule, unless something just cannot be proven.
A famous bearer is American stage actress Faith Prince (born August 5, 1957). On Broadway, she has starred in 'Jerome Robbins' Broadway' in 1989, the 1992 revival of 'Guys and Dolls' (winning a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical), and 'The King and I.'
Not a bad name. I prefer it as a middle name, though.

I think this is a lovely name! If you want to name your daughter something short, sweet, and uncomplicated, this is the name for you! It has a great meaning and it's not that hard to spell or pronounce. I personally wouldn't use this as a first name, I would probably use it as a middle name. Plus, if you had twin girls, you could name them Hope and Faith. So cute! A cute nickname would be Faithie.

I wasn't too keen on any virtue names, but since reading a certain book (Jodi Picoult's "Keeping Faith") my idea of Faith at least has completely changed. I've even started using it in my own stories, I think it's really cute and strong.
I think this name is very cute! :-) I prefer it as a middle name since it has only one syllable. The name Faith reminds me of a very FAITHFUL and HAPPY person.
I think I like the name Faith better than Hope. I just could not see an 80 year old called Hope but I could with Faith because you could change it to Fay which is nice and suits and old person well or a teen and up. Fay Fay is cute for a little kid!

While I don't usually enjoy names after virtues (e.g. Grace, Hope, Charity), I do like Faith, probably because I used to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where Eliza Dushku played Faith as one user mentioned. I have always liked to spell the name 'Faith' as 'Fhaythe' because it looks a lot more interesting that way although the original spelling is all right as well.
I think the name Faith is a beautiful name. Someone close to me whom I care for is named this - she is anything but frilly, or prissy. It's a name that calls to mind feminity but also strength and sincerity. It certainly beats names like Danny (and all its other spellings/variations which are simply used in an attempt to spice up a boring, common, lifeless, uninspired, silly, without-meaning, overused name).
