Fadi (فادي) Aldeeb (الديب), b. 1984, is a Palestinian para-athlete. He competed at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in the F55 shot put event and was the only Palestinian representative at the games.
I actually know a Fadi in real life, and for the longest time I thought he was Russian (I didn't know how his name was spelled, so I assumed it was "Faddey", as in the Russian form of Thaddeus). I was wrong, though, as he told me he was Syrian. He also mentioned that this name is very common and popular among Arabs. I personally don't like the way it's pronounced by most Americans (like "FAW-dee"), but the original Arabic pronunciation sounds better.

One of my favorite names, along with Boutros, Khalid and Fahd. I would probably name my third son this if I had any. Also, it is prounounced "faah-dee", not "fad-ee".
