I can't think about this name without imagining a little boy running about wreaking havoc. It just sounds like an immature name.

I love Italian Chef Fabio Viviani. He became a Food Network star and ventured out on his own, has a string of books and restaurants in the United States. This name screams Italy to me... and that isn't a bad thing. I've never met a Fabio in the United States, think it would blend in well with all the latinos we have here. It wouldn't be a strange name in L.A., Miami, Chicago, etc.. interesting name.

I think that it's highly unlikely that the kids at school will have any knowledge of Fabio, the famous Italian model. And so what if they did? The man is gorgeous and successful. I guess the only detraction people associate with him is that he is perceived to be the male version of a "dumb blond" or a Barbie doll. But, by the time your son is an adult, Fabio the model will be a forgotten character from our era. I'd chance it and give this lovely name to a boy. Especially if I was Italian and proud of my heritage. It's such a handsome name!
