The -ette ending makes it look like a girls' name. Just go with Everett instead.
Honestly, this LOOKS more feminine to me.
Correction: Gender: FeminineUsage: English (Modern, Rare)Pronounced: EHV-rət, ehv-REHTMeaning: Feminine form of EVERETT.
My son is Everette and we love the name. It came across as a last name on a script when I worked in a Pharmacy. If you do the research the name originated as a last name and when it came to the USA the e at the end got chopped off. Our daughter is Veira with an I in the middle because that is also the original spelling. We did a lot of research on both.
I would not name my son a name with Ette or Eve in it, both are very female. I prefer Everett with out the extra E.
I love this name. I knew an Everette and always liked the sound of his name. It reminds me of big tall spruce trees for some reason. Earthy and manly. Would definitely name a son this.
I cannot believe that this is listed as a masculine name. For crying out loud, it ends in "-ette"!
Despite the -ette ending, the name just doesn't sound very feminine. The sound is harsh and ugly, and it's quite depressing that some people use names like this on their daughters.
