Meaning & History
Derived from the Greek adjective εὔχαρις (eucharis) meaning "charming, gracious". It consists of Greek εὖ (eu) meaning "good, well" combined with the Greek noun χάρις (charis) meaning "grace, kindness" (see Chares).In literature, this is the name of one of the nymph Calypso's attendants in François Fénelon's novel Les Aventures de Télémaque (1699).
