Meaning & History
Latinized form of the Greek Εὐαίμων (Euaimon) which was possibly derived from εὔαιμος (euaimos) meaning "full-blooded", from εὖ (eu) "well" and αἷμα (haima) "blood". This was the name of several characters in Greek mythology, including the son of Ormenus and father of Eurypylus in the 'Iliad'.
