A strong, unique name.
Epifanio de los Santos y Cristóbal, sometimes known as Don Pañong or Don Panyong (April 7, 1871 – April 18, 1928) was a noted Filipino historian, journalist, and civil servant.
It is thanks to two saints named Epiphanius that Epifanio eventually found its way into the Spanish-speaking world. So, Epifanio was not directly derived from Greek 'epiphaneia' - it began at first as the Spanish form of Epiphanius. Of course, Epiphanius itself is ultimately derived from Greek 'epiphaneia', so the etymological origin is ultimately the same. It's just that, in the case of Epifanio, it is more of an indirect derivation (via Epiphanius) than immediately from 'epiphaneia'.Last but not least, Epifanio is also the Italian form of Epiphanius.
