The above pronunciations are incorrect. "-ción" is pronounced as only one syllable in both Latin American and Castillian Spanish.
It is not from the name of the Spanish festival which is celebrated on Christmas Day. But from the Spanish festival celebrated 9 months before Christmas Day, that is the 25th of March.
