Well, this is a lovely name I will say. Means "Elite" in a lot of languages,"chosen one" as already stated, "flower" in some other languages... On to the point... Elita-One from Transformers has this name :)

Wiktionary says that Elita was first recorded as a given name of Latvians during 1850 - 1875. Possibly from French élite ("elite"), or a phonetic coinage.

My name's Elita and people always say it wrong. It's pronounced L-EE-TA. That simple! Not Alida or Elisa, or some other name like that. It bothers my Dad more than it bothers me, though. Also, the name means "Chosen One."

Means "The Chosen One". Of Latin and French origin from the Latin word "elite" which was taken from the French word "élire" meaning "to choose". Also short form of names ending in "elita" or "lita".
I love the meaning of this name, it's also very pretty. Sounds like somebody who would be really small. I cant really see somebody with this name right now though.
