Edom

Esau's nickname Edom did not arise "because he traded his birthright for a helping of red broth." He was a hairy guy with an abundance of RED hair [per Genesis 25:25].

"24 So when her days were fulfilled for [Rebekah] to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau."

Also believed to be a reference to either the red skin or the red earth of Eden.
