I'm from Denmark and when I was little I was good friends with a girl who had this name. I wanna tell you that it's pronounced i (as in the words it or if) and then a (as in the words and or at) and put those sounds together. That's how you pronounce this name. Ea. It's not pronounced like the game company.

I'm particularly fascinated with Ea being a two-letter, two-vowel name. Within the countries it's used, it's perceived as adorable. It's been used as a given name, middle name or short form. In Norwegian (and Iceland), for instance, pronounced EH-a; in Danish (Swedish, Finnish, and Greenlandish) pronounced EE-a. I, too, think they both have a lovely sound, as is the pronunciation AY-a, which can be another option. My personal favourite is EH-a. Other options could be Èa (with a grave accent) and Éa (with an acute accent), which, depending on the language, are pronounced either EH-a or AY-a, and would also work well. For a female, Ea, has long been my second favourite name!
