Used by author Christopher Paolini (1983-) as the name of an antagonist in his Inheritance trilogy. The character Durza is a Shade, i.e., a sorcerer possessed by demonic spirits; born Carsaib, he was transformed into a Shade when he summoned spirits too powerful to control, which then took possession of his mind and body. The spirits renamed his body Durza.
